New Economic Intellectuals: Peculiarities of Formation

The review of the monograph by professor G.G. Sillaste presents the dignity of this work, based on an analysis of the main features of formation of market relations in conditions of a new stratum of Russian society – the economic intelligentsia (intellectuals). The strata of economic intellectuals includes professionals of mental work, employed in various spheres of economy, management, accounting and control, planning, financial, economic and financial resources. On the vast empirical material, G.G. Sillaste analyzes stratification processes taking place within the strata of intellectuals (its division into higher, mass intelligentsia and semi-intelligentsia), the processes of gender asymmetry, and the specifics of moral values of the economic intelligentsia.
