Political Lessons of the February Revolution
Abstract
The article analyzes the lessons of the February 1917 revolution in the context of the current political situation in Russia. The first lesson is that the revolution usually begins on a sudden. Another important feature of the revolution is the rapid development of events. Revolution almost never leads to the results that people had planned. In addition, the main political lesson of February is that the population should have legal valves to release resentment and counter-elite should have a real chance of coming to power.
