The Role of Managers in Modernization of Russian Society
Abstract
The article reveals a role of managers as the actors of modernization in Russia. The author concludes that the role of a state as an exclusive driving force of modernization processes is reduced in modern conditions. Historical experience shows that authoritarian modernization of the Russian society did not lead to the anticipated outcomes. In this context there is a need for the modernization based on solidarity and consolidation of members of a society. Managers can become the main driving force of such modernization. Managers become a part of the modernization process which has its own trajectory. Therefore the author concludes the growing importance of the managers in modernization of the society. In the Russian conditions the most effective type of a manager, who combined the features as of the traditional, so of the modern leader is forming.
