Western European Conservatism as one of the Sources of Russian Socio-Political Thought

Abstract
The article examines the main ideas of European conservatism, which influenced the formation of Russian conservative socio-political thought. The author analyzes English, French and German conservative ideas. Based on the analysis, he concludes that such fundamental conservative ideals as the need for a strong monarchical government, criticism of liberal democratic ideas, traditional values (cult of the family, religious factor, socio-hierarchical division of society, etc.) were largely borrowed from European philosophical thought. However, representatives of Russian conservatism not only borrowed these ideas, but also creatively reworked and developed them.
