The article provides a definition of light industry and classifies enterprises based on the type of products they produce. It examines the effects of sanctions on production processes, supply chains, and political responses. Additionally, the paper discusses political initiatives and import substitution programs designed to sustain the light industry. Finally, the author draws the conclusion regarding the significance of light industry for Russia’s political stability and economic security.
